Belleville Aims for World Record with "World's Biggest Yard Sale", Featured in New Bell Fibe TV 1 Series
Belleville, ON – March 18, 2025 – Get ready to declutter and contribute to a world record! On July 19, 2025, Belleville will transform into a city-wide marketplace as it attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the "World's Biggest Yard Sale." This ambitious event, spearheaded by local comedian and community advocate, Kyle Woolven, will also be the focus of a new television series, "Belleville Yard Sale," airing on Bell FibeTV 1.
Kyle Woolven, known for his viral YouTube hits like "Welcome to Belleville" and "Quinte Mall," as well as his innovative community projects, is leveraging his creative energy to rally the city. "This is more than just a yard sale," says Kyle. "It's a chance for Belleville to unite, and achieve something extraordinary. For I am not just Kyle For Mayor; I’m also Kyle For Good."
The event is a collaborative effort, bringing together the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board, Discover Belleville, Downtown District BIA, and the Starboard Communications home of Cool 100, Hits 95.5 and InQuinte.ca. Their collective goal is to encourage every household in Belleville to participate by hosting a yard sale on July 19th.
"A world record would be incredible," states Dug Stevenson, Executive Director of the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board, "but the true value lies in the community spirit. Seeing an entire city come together for a unified purpose is truly inspiring, especially when it's for such a worthy cause."
The "Belleville Yard Sale" will directly benefit United Way Hastings & Prince Edward, with 100% of proceeds donated to local charities. These funds will provide crucial support to sectors in the community that need it most.
"We're thrilled to be a part of this ambitious and community-driven initiative," says Emilie Leneveu, United Way Community Relations & Fundraising Coordinator.. "The funds raised will make a significant impact on the lives of many in Hastings and Prince Edward counties."
When asked who will be shopping at the numerous yard sales if everyone is hosting a yard sale, Kyle responds, "Everyone else. We're inviting Kingston, Oshawa, South Porcupine, and everyone in Ontario. This is going to be the biggest summer event in the world… or at least in Belleville.”
